New: OrionMeter radio modem for Zenner gas meters on LoRaWAN® and NB-IoT

OrionM2M cover: OrionMeter radio modem for Zenner gas meters, ORN-GMZ-LW868/NB, LoRaWAN® and NB-IoT.

The battery-powered OrionMeter ORN-GMZ-LW868/NB radio modem reads gas meters wirelessly, periodically stores meter values in its non-volatile memory and then sends the stored data, together with the current values, by radio to a LoRaWAN® or NB-IoT network.

The radio modem itself closes the meter valve in an emergency when a gas leak is detected and sends an operational message to the dispatcher over LoRaWAN® or NB-IoT.

Advantages of the radio modem:

  • easy connection through the standard connector of the gas meter;
  • self-activation by gas flow;
  • activation by a magnet;
  • detection of magnetic tampering during operation;
  • immediate notification and valve closure in case of a gas leak;
  • remote control of the gas meter’s shut-off valve;
  • EasyTool technology for wireless configuration, firmware updates and reading of stored data over a secure channel;
  • BatteryCare technology, which lets the radio modem run for up to 7 years without replacing the power source;
  • non-volatile memory that stores up to 62 days of hourly profile, with remote reading on request.

The radio modem can be used to collect data remotely from gas meters and send it by radio to a LoRaWAN® or NB-IoT network server: in apartments of multi-storey residential buildings, in private houses with gas water heaters and stoves, and in automated gas metering systems.
